1. Introduction
The phenomenon of increasing aggression from patients towards professionals in health care has been a neglected area of investigation for a long time. Meanwhile, this longstanding and well-known problem is subject to a steadily increasing research interest. Patient aggression is now universally recognized as an important challenge in mental health care and the incidence of patient aggression is reportedly increasing. Aggression and violence are recognized as significant occupational risks for health care staff[1]. Today, concerns about incidents of patient violence towards health care professionals are reported more frequently.
